Today my Grandchildren left for home. Joann, Bill and I rode over to a Pretty Place in South Carolina and we met the others there. The others being James, Veronica, a girl friend of Veronica's and Matt, the love of Veronica's life.  It is a gorgeous view of what  looks like all the mountains in North Carolina. They took lots of pictures.Â
After many tears and goodbyes we went our way and they went their way. Having them here was such a joy. But oh how I miss them tonight. I think this is what they mean when they say "the quiet is deafening".Â
In the evening we would all get together in my quarters and play Jumble (the word game). James brought me several Jumble books because we don't have the Jumble in the paper that comes out twice a week up here.  Â
Now we get ready for Tom and Nancy's visit. Hopefully we can take them to "A Pretty Place". It is an open air Chapel with a view like no other. They have weddings there and special Church services.Â
I did watch the Rays beat the Tigers 6-5 and that helped a bit. What a good game.
My collection of Rays memorabilia is growing thanks to a good friend. Leslie sent a box full of collectibles along with some interesting articles in the Times about my team.
Oh yes, and James brought me the Cowboy Hat they gave last Saturday and I wore it to the White Squirrel Festival over the weekend.Â
Well, it's time to say goodnight.Â
Love and prayers from here to there.Â
